The first tickets to the capital city shows sold out within 5 minutes of going on sale this morning with second shows for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne going on sale shortly after and selling out within 10 minutes! With this strong demand third shows were released in Brisbane (sold out) and Melbourne (small amount of tix left � selling fast). At the time of issuing this press release, a second and FINAL Perth show has been announced with tickets going on sale at midday WA time.
This is the fastest a theatre run has sold for POWDERFINGER. Promoter and POWDERFINGER manager Paul Piticco said �The band and management are totally overwhelmed by demand for tickets to these shows. We purposely came up with this tour concept to give something to the fans and obviously from today�s result we�ve struck the right chord! Now it�s up to the audience to choose the set list � get voting!�
These theatre shows will comprise two sets � one acoustic / one amped - with the audience getting the chance to choose the setlists, which will ultimately become a mix of POWDERFINGER rarities and hits both old and new. Voting will begin on Monday, 14 April at 10.00am at www.powderfinger.com/tours and continue until 5.00pm Wednesday, 30 April. The band will decide whether they will play each song acoustically or plugged in.
The much anticipated personal and intimate concert experience will be POWDERFINGER�S first return to theatres in Australia in 8 years and it is apparent that fans are excited to see the finger in this setting! This will be their last Australian tour on this album!
Dream Days at the Hotel Existence � The Deluxe Edition, 2 disc set is OUT Saturday, 19 April and includes a bonus DVD featuring POWDERFINGER Live in Concert Max Sessions filmed at the Sydney Opera House late last year. Special guests on this extraordinary concert for National Breast Cancer Month include Missy Higgins, Nic Cester (Jet) and Kev Carmody.
